More December Sketches

Playing with colour for new artworks, random sketching, random writing out of my mind and memories… Or not so random perhaps…

Here some other sketches from my current carnet, they all from December.

The first three are from a very cool musical gig at ACU, on the 12th. The definition from the website of the artist, from Poland, does fit:

Bajzel [meaning: mess] is the purest definition of "one man show" and "one man band". He is a band. He is a musical chameleon tap dancing on pedals, live-looping guitar, bass and beats into virtuosic alternative art-rock exhilaration.

The followings are stolen from a very warm and free party in Den Haag (The Hague) at my sweet friend Dorotea's new place.

Dorotea taking a picture
Dorotea, Johannes, Marilù, Stefano (who incredibly resembles a schoolmate I had in my art academy and who now lives in Australia (oh ciao Peter!))

Dimitris

On my way to portrait Dorotea, for some reasons something very challenging to me: I gotta do it with colours, she's too shining to add a black unreal outline to her skin…

Random, from my fantasy

Lovely Lynn

Random strip coming back home on the train…
And again…
And then a portrait made during a video call with my dear friend John, Gianvito, or however you want to call him. I'm very glad of this one. He said "Eta, by now you see everything in your way, did you realize that?"
He's usually very right about me. :)

There is also a digital variation of the colours…

Enough for now.
Much to do, here – I want to keep updated my post by showing some glimpses of what's going on around my nails, but not much time to tell and write. Soon I'll scan also my sketches from the Cremonapalloza Rock Fest, the X edition!

Little Eta's musical gift if you made it till the end of the post: check out this band, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy, related to Jefferson Airplane.
Stay positive, folks. Even this January. Especially this January.

"You must do beautiful dreams, Grandma!"

Just a regular John

Random sketch.
A regular John is always good for a random sketch.
Charming expression and specific source from: a Jul's photograph.

I adore how one of the most orange people I know has these default dramatic features.

(If morphopsychology turns you on too, well, do not miss iioo project and all the research its creator Andrea Riboni is now carrying. John himself is also very curious to see how he'd look into a iioo portrait. Can't wait!)

PS. The quote was unconscious, I realize it now, afterwards. I don't tell it. I'll send a kiss-thought (eh, i miei vechi bacipensieri…) for who will get it first. I know I can count on at least two of my readers. Go! Guess it!

PPS. I'm getting closer to the magic day when I'll publish my post number 666. This post is kinda special too, it is the number 666, on one hand, but only considering the drafts too. I'll do something for the number 666 between the published ones.
Just to make sure you know that when I'll burn away, even my dust will feel like Rock.
(And also because this kind of things excites my cousin McA.)

спокойной ночи

Tonight, or yesterday night, whatever (I never understood how to mention the night just gone…), meh… The last night, I was working on a movie, but the software was taking too long breaks getting stuck, so meanwhile every now and then I was sketching something useful for my other current projects. At a certain point, a big pink bird came out.

And again.

So I started to guess there was again way too much inspiration going on and I let the mirror distract myself.

And then somehow some sweet sweet words told me by my dear friend Johnny John landed on another paper with which I was filling the lacks of work from the software…

(colors, coulours, culurs, coloooours, aaarrgh!)

And then a supposed-to-be-character-design became another vision which I called Katalùna because of the wonderful Jackalope's dream I just read after making it.

And then, during the last break of the software, The Siberian Sphinxes found their way to my pastels.

Perhaps I have to do something with those creatures interrupted me in the beginning.
Perhaps, some strips again.
Who knows.

спокойной ночи

[[[ Special Anniversary! ]]] Jente Seria /// Your Daily Vision

The 9th of October 2013:
 • nine years ago I kissed my first boyfriend (hey, that's a holy memory I share, respect!),
 • forty-three years ago a lady who helped me a lot was born (happy birthday, Polly Jane)

and

 • already FIVE YEARS ago this my sweet friend, my blog Eta dorme sui pesci volanti, started its run.

Thank you my little blog…
and thank you everybody who likes it :)

(I specially thank who asked me to keep it when I was gonna delete it, during some old crisis… (Ciao Do, ciao Jul, ciao Calzi'! E va be', ciao pure alla nanerottola, ciao Rib. Ciao Chockie. Ciao Testadiclaudio, ho scritto il pos pensando di annuire tutto il tempo, vinco qualcosa? Ciao Antonio, come va? Ciao. Ciao Masha, пока!

Ok, the romantic break between me, this blog, the flying fish and anyone there behind the monitor (historical readers (ciao Abi) or just a random visitors) now is finished: time for celebrate everything with a very very nice, stupid, weird, idiot, ugly, awkward and holy traditional stuff:
our new air album!!!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, shame on you, brother.
Of course I mean the great spectacular project JENTE SERIA, which you can browse by its tag on my blog: we went through hip hop, heavy metal, dream pop, psych folk, disco punk, Italian indie rock, dark wave and an unknown bootleg…

Cheers, this is our third year of activity (after our longest break, finally our fans will be happy again, get ready to the huge hype I can already feel around, our last album sex 'n' confusion has been released more then one year ago, the 5th of October, but now your waiting is over, folks!).
And cheers again, ladies and gentlmen, this is our tenth album!!!

Now that hopefully you're updated about the best air music collection on the planet, please enjoy our new air cover, Your Daily Vision, our unique and unexpected saucerful of psy trance:

Long live to Jente Seria!
Long live to my sweet psychedelic blog!
Long live to Mr. Chockie!
Long live to the silliness!!

PS: Fully respecting the Jente Seria tradition, which started as outlet during our Academic exams and loved to waste this way our time instead of studying, also now, actually, I'm really overloaded of things to do: and here we go, that's Jente Seria's spirit. There is nothing I can do. Love it.

The Little Story of A Short Ethernal Fear Birth ~ and other shit

This afternoon I faced an organic fork:
I was holding this sorrow Pulp which I grabbed sliding inside myself, she was ready to get bigger, but I took her in time, still benign, I told her to calm down one moment and then I observed her while, patient, she was explaining to me her right to live, resting in my palm.

The fact of being able to make a backward step from the running abyss, a backward step from myself, with all myself, this fact made smile by tenderness; now with the Pulp I can talk in a pretty more diplomatic way, I can even offer her a cup of tea and I explain to her that, to be honest, I'm fine even without her, I have to finish some stuff, I mean, I'm a busy one.

But then she looked at me by that delirious interstice of plea and severity and she convinced me; she remembers me that what we learnt in June, this summer, was to give to the darkness its slice of evacuation, 'cause it belongs as well to the health, to the complementarity, after all.

So I gave heed to her and I made the old good exercise: I ex-pressed myself, I converted the sorrow in value.

This is the drawing I made today:

This is a drawing I made in June:

(my jugband blues…*)

These are April notes (they don't have too much to do in this post, but they are sweetly capricious):

And this is a detail from tonight,

you better zoom to watch it entirely,
it's called The Little Story of A Short Ethernal Fear Birth
and I consider it a good experimenting object for my next works:

Special credits for my today's guardianship:
Baby Lemonade, Syd Barrett
*Jugband Blues, Pink Floyd (oh my, all the universe still disappears in electric clouds of fears each time I hear "And I'm wondering who could be writing this song")
The Rainbow Family
Dead Mantra, Dead Skeletons
and my alter Eta: John Johnny John caro.

Good whatever everyone, everybody.

And remember to listen to good music…

John and Jul, Gianvito e Giulia, Johnny and Julia. Whatever. Them, holy shit.

So, what's going on?
What's the news of the year?
I know you can't get it, I know you maybe don't know them*, I know you can't probably understand how much it means to me, to us, but the fact is: Gianvito and Giulia became a couple, folks!!!
The story is weird and it's common at the same time, somehow, 'cause otherwise we wouldn't have the dynamics of the star crossed lovers and all those people understanding they love each other just some months after a whole bachelor together (and a big new geographical distance in the middle–we are the generation of the distance love, aren't we?!), but still we can't stop to be surprised realising these two damned wonderful beasts are now… are now… really really a couple!
Now I would like to tell you the worst funniest things about them, but I will save my sleeping time (as usual I write in late night…) and I will save also my dignity as future virtual "uncle" (yes, guys, of course, now you made me dream you'll use my name for your very-future-plan, I will start even to proudly write this honour as sort of reference on my CV, what did you hope?).
So, ok, let's censor my nails on the keyboard.
I will tell only one cool point: they are the both grown in a theatrical surrounding and they know pretty well the holy importance of the games.

So what else could you wish about your models, as drawer, once they ask you a portrait together?

These are just the first three experiments (forgive the low quality, please, and perhaps also complain to blogspot, thanks); one day I hope to have more fun and more time to use better their very inspiring complicity (meanwhile, I hope their complicity will learn how to don't shake too much when they want my pencil to follow their bodies… yes, that's why these sketches have been difficult, and, yes, I'm still very very disappointed in my friends).

Ma dico, vi rendete conto?
Gianvito e Giulia!!!
Quanto cazzo mi piacciono, 'sti bastardi.

* In case you don't know them, you have a lack into your life trip: find a trick and try to meet them.
Yes, if you pay me I'll be glad to write a touristic guide about their world: suggest a new book series to Lonely Planet and made me rich, thanks.
